The Club was formed in 1969 to enable local children to swim competitively. Mote Park Swimming Club changed its name and moved to the Larkfield Leisure Centre in November 1997 in order to take advantage of the newly built pool.

Young children of any age or ability can be accepted into the teaching section of the club and the usual progression is:

  1. Swimmers/non swimmers from 4 upwards start in the young swimmers. Teaching classes are held every Thursday at Larkfield Leisure Centre from 7 pm. The cost of 12 sessions is £50 for the first child and £46 for second and subsequent children. The top group of this section may also be asked to train on Mondays at Rochester Maths School at 7 pm (all children must register at the club desk before joining their class).
  2. With 4 good strokes and some stamina, swimmers then pass into the main club. Subscriptions are payable monthly by standard order which is currently £30.00 (again all swimmers must register)

Once accepted into the main club, swimmers are expected to swim regularly on Club Night (Thursday at Larkfield 8 pm) and to attend at least one of the other sessions.
