A GUIDE TO KENTS
Kent County Championships is the initial competition for swimmers who wish to compete against other swimmers across the county. Knowing these target times are great as an incentive for training. Competing in regular gala's is the only way to qualify for these competitions.
Swimmers who race here are the fastest in the county and reaching this level is a great achievement. Once reaching Kents, the next level will be competing at Regionals (fastest in the South East Region) then Nationals (fastest in England).
Kent times are released towards the end of every calendar year. Kents are swum at the London Aquatic Centre in January.
Ages are determined by the age a swimmer will be on the 31st December in that year. For example, if they are born in 2011, they would be competing in the 15 year age category as they will be 15 on 31st December 2026.
LC means long course times (times achieved after swimming in 50 meter pools)
SC means short course times (times achieved after swimming in 25 meter pools)
Auto means the swimmer automatically qualifies for the event they achieved that time in. Cons (consideration) means the swimmer will be considered for that event by Kent County Amateur Swimming Association.
